Beyer & Söhne / Modernizing a family-run
eCommerce shop
In a nutshell
Beyer&Söhne is a German family business known for its commitment to high-quality skincare products. With the brief to redesign Beyer&Söhne's online presence, we set out to address key UX shortcomings and breathe new life into the e-commerce site's UI design.
Although the current shop was functional, it had problems with the clarity of navigation, usability issues in the product discovery and a visual appearance that no longer did justice to the brand. Crucially, the web shop is also the only sales channel, as Beyer&Söhne does not sell products in physical shops.
The result? A refreshed, user-friendly platform that stands out in the digital marketplace.

UX & target audience
As a lead designer, I focused on redesigning the UX friction points to create a smooth, engaging experience. I took into account the primary target audiences, ranging from younger first-time buyers (25-35 years old) to older, long-term customers (aged 45+).
UI design
To achieve the goal of a more contemporary shop while staying true to Beyer&Söhne's minimalist brand and packaging design, I worked on a visual repositioning. The design direction is a modern approach with plenty of white space, room to breathe and refreshing touches:
Results
I made sure that the site meets the high standards of today's e-commerce landscape and at the same time reflects current brands and users. In doing so, the redesign succeeds in combining a modern look with a high degree of user-friendliness.
The product detail page is modern, spacious and clearly outlines product benefits.
